Long Island Housing Partnership

The Employer Assisted Housing Program was introduced by the Long Island Housing Partnership as an economic initiative to assist Long Island employers to recruit and retain qualified professionals.

Stephen and Aimee Keegan, with Joseph, 8 months, received about $35,000 in buying and renovating a $360,000 Cape Cod in Levittown from the Long Island Housing Partnership. When asked about our performance as their contactor Mrs. Keegan replied, "They were excellent!"

Long Island Housing Partnership is working with employers such as, North Shore Long Island Jewish Health systems, Association for the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC) and Our Lady of Consolation.

These employers offer monetary benefits to their employees which can be augmented with additional funds from the county, state and/or federal government.

These programs are available to all businesses located in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Employers will be required to provide a benefit contribution, which may be in the form of a grant, matched saving and/or interest rate buy-down to name a few.

After closing on my first house in the end of November 2008, I have finally settled in. However, I want to give credit where credit is due and not forget to thank the people that have made this purchase, and milestone in my life possible.

First I appreciate all the help and guidance I received from the Long Island Housing Partnership Learning of the Employee Assisted Housing program through my employer. You and Ms Munoz were patient in describing the process and steps I needed to take, while Michael McCarthy explained the liabilities involved during the closing.
