Michael Murtha - Owner
When Michael Murtha started Murtha Construction over 30 years ago, his vision was a company that provided a quality job at a fair price, one that would grow by consistently delivering exceptional service. “Quick, Clean, Guaranteed” became Mike’s business philosophy long before Murtha Construction’s mantra. Mike has built a team and an organization that proudly wears his name and achieves his vision. Mike guided Murtha Construction into the building weatherization field over 20 years ago. Today, Murtha Construction is a well-known leader in this “emerging” industry. The social benefits and employment opportunities presented by the “green jobs revolution” can only happen when quality work is performed in a highly efficient manner. Mike takes great pride in guiding a team that realizes this vision. He is a graduate of C.W. Post with a degree in Marketing and Economics. While in college, Mike was captain of the lacrosse team, a member of the student senate and president of the economic society. He currently resides in Bay Shore with his wife and three children. Mike enjoys spending time with his family, cooking and volunteering as a lacrosse coach. Professionally, he is a member of NARI, and a BPI certified Building Analyst and Building Envelope Professional.
Stephen McKenna - Director of Building Efficiency
Stephen has 25 years of experience in residential remodeling and construction. He is knowledgeable in all construction trades including electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general carpentry. As Director of Building Efficiency, Steve is proficient in combustion efficiency and safety testing, mold and mildew cause diagnostics, infrared imaging, heating load calculations and HVAC control strategies. He holds BPI certifications in Building Analyst, Building Envelope specialist as well as heating specialist. Steve is a founding board member of the Building Performance Contractors Association, Long Island Chapter, and is a recognized leader in the building performance industry on Long Island. In addition to his duties as Director of Building Efficiency, Steve is our resident computer guru and oversees the development of our website and office computer systems. Steve resides in North Bellmore, NY, with his wife of 25 years and their three sons. He is a long-time volunteer coach at Bellmore Merrick Roller Hockey. Steve is an avid surf fisherman and an accomplished distance caster.
Stephen Stica - Director of Operations
Stephen Stica has over 30 years experience in the home remodeling industry. As Production Manager, he consults with clients during all phases of their project to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Steve holds BPI Building Analyst certification. Steve also coordinates and schedules the various trades throughout the project, ensuring that each project adheres to schedule. Steve is also heavily involved in the estimating process, from material takeoffs to final project pricing, providing our sales force timely and accurate estimates. Steve is familiar with all municipal building codes, and meets personally with inspectors to assure that all of our projects exceed code. Steve resides in Blue Point, NY. He is a father of two and a grandfather of three. He also serves on the boards of various local sports organizations.
Ann Dranoff - Office Manager
Ann Dranoff has over 30 years experience in office management and leadership. Prior to joining Murtha Construction in November of 2005, she served as Assistant Vice President for Administration for a computer leasing company in Melville. At Murtha, Ann is responsible for day-to-day office operations, including handling customer inquiries, contracts and assisting both the President and the Production Manager. Her chief goal is to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Ann resides in Sayville with her husband and two daughters and is active in local community outreach programs.
